About

I’m Stephen Harrison, a writer and tech lawyer. My fiction and nonfiction pieces have in places like the New York Times, The Washington Post, WIRED, and the Guardian. But these days I’m excited about the work that I’m producing here on Substack.

Back in 2018, I started a column for Slate magazine called Source Notes that focused on the internet’s knowledge ecosystem, with a particular focus on Wikipedia. That column eventually led to my debut suspense novel, The Editors, which is inspired by the free internet encyclopedia and its contributors.

These days I’ve have broadened my focus to include print media, books, AI, and internet culture. Expect an update every 1-2 weeks.
